Barbara began in the Fitness
Industry as a Group Exercise
Instructor and Personal Trainer in
December, 1992. While continuing on
in fitness, Barbara achieved a BS in
Psychology with a Minor in Physical
Anthropology, Anatomy and
Primatology. She worked with
chimpanzees in Washington state and
presented a paper for a Jane Goodall
conference. Barbara then continued
in the fitness industry as she
worked in the health field as an EMT
on an ambulance and in a Colorado
ER.
Barbara is a trained personal and
professional coach and workshop
presenter. In 2004, Barbara and her
husband moved to the Chicagoland
area where Barbara could no longer
deny fitness as the field for which
she was meant. During her time as a
Fitness and Group Exercise Director
in the Chicagoland area, Barbara
became a trained Zumba® instructor
and was fortunate enough to become
one of the Zumba® Education
Specialists.
Barbara holds group exercise
certifications with ACE and AFAA, as
well as a personal training
certification with ACE. Barbara
enjoys teaching Zumba® Basics 1 and
2 as well as Zumba® GOLD, and Zumba®
Toning. She now works full time as a
Zumba® Instructor, Education
Specialist and Education Division
Coordinator.
